August – September 2009 Prayer Letter
God has blessed us and the churches! Here are some highlights of His blessings the last couple of months.
Camp for our teens was a great success. Many spiritual decisions were made for Christ. They had about 150 campers from several churches across Mexico. One of our teens is now in a Bible Institute as a direct result of camp.
This summer ended with some fantastic Vacation Bible Schools. Emanuel Bible Baptist had about 80 kids, with 25 coming to Christ.
Limon Baptist had 48 kids total with 15 professions of faith.
Amazing Grace Baptist joined together with 3 other congregations to host a larger VBS. Amazing Grace provided most of the workers and material with the goal of not only reaching more kids for Christ, but also teaching the other works how to conduct a successful vbs. Attendance was right about 200, with 75 kids coming to Christ, and 12 adults being saved at the closing service.
In the village of Tierra Y Libertad, Susie and I led the church in their Vacation Bible School. The new pastor and his wife had asked us to take the lead, since they had not been involved with one previously. Our goal was to bring others to Christ and to show this fine couple some ideas on how to conduct a successful VBS.

VBS Team
A total of 115 different kids came during the week with a high of 101 on the last day. On Wednesday the lesson was on the crucifixion of Christ and a simple presentation of the Gospel. We dealt with 35 of the older kids who prayed and professed their faith in the Lord.
On Sunday morning we had the special closing service. Surprisingly, most of the kids returned, many of them bringing their parents. At the close of the service, 2 men, 1 woman and a teen put their faith in the Lord.

Prayer requests:
One of our men has started a new work in another area of our city. Please pray with us as we assist them to establish a church in an area called “La Costerita.”
We do wish you would continue in prayer for us and for this country. School has started late in Culiacan because of the H1N1 Flu Virus. So far it has not affected any of our churches. Of course the violence continues. But, that is not news any longer. Please continue to pray for safety. We are grateful for the Lord’s watchful care over us.
We are privileged to serve Him and to represent our supporting churches in Mexico. Thank you for your support and for your prayers. May the Lord richly bless you!
